Underwatch
The Underwatch series explores pinhole surveillance cameras. The first camera in the series is made from a hardcover copy of Charles Dickens' The Mystery of Edwin Drood, the author's half-serialized murder mystery which - owing to a premature death - he never finished writing. The camera relies on a series of secret doors and hidden magnets, springs, and catches that, once properly engaged, reveal a small drawer that acts as a film holder. Loaded and ready to shoot, the photographer simply removes their thumb from the aperture on the cover of the book to make an exposure.
O iSee!, the plump iPod camera, will be used to create images dealing with the Foxconn suicides in China. The thumbwheel rotates to reveal a pinhole, exposing an image onto a 6x6cm frame. The camera holds a single roll of 120 film.
Two more cameras are in the works - a pigeon spy camera (for spying on pigeons, not the Neubronner variety), and a camera for historical war reenactment.
Series ongoing.
